I welcome students from the age of 6 through to adults, beginners and more experienced as well as those returning after a break.
Piano lessons may be taken at the studio, or I can arrange to come to your home.
I have over 35 years’ experience in providing motivating piano lessons, in a friendly, nurturing atmosphere, proudly assisting students in reaching their potential and achieving impressive exam results.
What I cover
The principal instrument taught is the Piano.
Other instruments/modalities taught include Keyboard, Aural Training, Sight Reading, Theory, Musicianship.
The style of music you will learn includes Classical, Pop, Rock, Jazz, Folk, Blues, Country, Duets, Trios, Broadway and Contemporary.
While sitting for exams is not compulsory, it is an optional pathway once the basics have been learnt. I can facilitate Trinity, ABRSM or AMEB, the latter being recognised for School Certificates at the higher grades.
GROUP THEORY CLASSES were introduced this year, and are held on the 4th Friday afternoon of each month at 4pm for one hour. The fee for attending these classes is $20 to be paid in cash on the day. Please send me a text message if you wish to attend.
My current fee structure:
30 minute lesson $35
45 minute lesson $50
60 minute lesson $65
I suggest a minimum of 45 minutes per lesson so that the various elements important to a well-rounded and pedagogically sound musical education can be adequately covered. Children under 7 years learn much better with 30 minute lessons taken twice a week, and an involved parent to help them practise between lessons.
Adults at any level will require a minimum of 45 minutes per lesson.
Lessons may be paid for in cash or by direct deposit - no cheques please.
Fees cover not just the time spent in a lesson, but all the preparation I put in to make each class customised to an individual student, as well as all the running costs, admin time, studio expenses, insurance, professional development ...
